ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS

Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin, which when used in small doses, can reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles.

Man Getting Botox

Wrinkles are a natural part of the ageing process. With age, our skin gets thinner and drier and we lose elastin. Eventually, wrinkles, creases, and lines form on our skin. Continuous muscle contraction is also another major contributor to facial wrinkles. Over time, if untreated, these wrinkles can become permanently etched in our skin.

Whilst the main purpose of anti-wrinkle treatments is to improve or temporarily remove existing lines, they can also be used as a preventative measure to help soften the expression lines that form when your face moves and put the formation of future lines on pause.

When it comes to injecting, most clients compare the sensation of the face injections to a quick prick. There is a slight pinching feeling, but it only lasts for a few seconds. Once injected, the toxin blocks the transition of chemical messages sent from the nerve to cause the muscle to contract. Without these messages, the muscle stays in a resting state until the ‘messengers’ recover. This recovery takes approximately 8 to 12 weeks on average.

There may be only a partial reduction in movement, this depends on the amount administered and location of product placement. It’s important to remember this is not a one size fits all treatment and may be tailored to suit your individual requirements. It is recommended you book a free 2-week consultation/follow up which includes a free top up if required.
